August 2014: Wedding of Zoe and Ed

Another beautiful wedding weekend together with Ed & Zoe who have chosen to stay the weekend in Gargonza with family and friends.

Rain has been with us as with most part of Italy but this helped very much our grass, lemons and flowers of our Olive press garden to be the greenest! Welcome dinner was then set with a rustic tuscan buffet and among all the plates prepared by Susi and her staff from the restaurant we cannot comment her beautiful Aubergine “parmigiana”, meat and vegetable lasagna and stuffed tomatoes from our vegetable garden.

The setting was simple but in the same time beautiful with the garden facing the medieval tower of Gargonza. Centre piece and setting was with white wood lanterns and sage and rosemary centre piece. An open bar was then set in the Bar next door.

The following day the bride & groom married in our Church of SS. Tiburzio & Susanna with an Anglican celebrant. After the ceremony the aperitif and dinner was served in our panoramic room at the restaurant with the following menu:

Canapées with goat cheese and cured beef/ham
Mini melone wrapped in prosciutto crudo
Mini arancini
Caprese with bufala mozzarella

Spinach and ricotta cheese tortello with butter and sage sauce (with Parmesan on top)

Beef Fillet with sauces served aside (vino Nobile, green pepper and rosemary)
Vegetables flan with Parmigiano fondue
Roast potatoes
